The Madison Black Chamber of Commerce will present $602,281 in grant funding to 40 local Black-owned businesses during a celebration event Friday from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., according to a Madison Black Chamber media alert.
The MBCC is a membership-based organization that works to support Black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs in the City of Madison and surrounding areas through economic investment, advocacy and networking, according to the MBCCÂ website.
At the event, MBCC will present ceremonial checks to the participating grant recipients and highlight their investment into the local economy and community, according to the media alert.
Grant funding provided by the Wisconsin Department of Administration will contribute to the continued development of these businesses, according to MBCC President and CEO Camille Carter.
